Opera In The Vineyards Returns!

Aug 2 Opera In The Vineyards Returns!

The wait is over!! After a two year hiatus, 2016 heralds the return of this much loved annual celebration of food, wine and opera!

Since its humble beginnings in 1996 at the historic Wyndham Estate Winery, almost 100,000 people have converged into the beautiful Hunter Valley for an evening of passionate and romance. This Spring will see it staged for the first time at the stunning Roche Estate (formerly Tempus Two), right in the heart of Pokolbin.

Always a truly memorable experience, Opera in the Vineyards combines the exhilaration of opera, breathtaking surrounds, great food, fine wine and good company. It’s the perfect excuse for a day or weekend away and a definite highlight in anyone’s spring calendar.

To celebrate we are thrilled to present four of our most famous and popular opera singers, sopranos Natalie Aroyan, Amelia Farrugia, star tenor David Hobson, together with special guest international tenor Richard Troxell (USA). We welcome back Maestro Brian Castles-Onion to compere proceedings in his own inimitable way and present a programme of romantic arias, duets and comic ensembles by the great composers Mozart, Puccini and Verdi… bound to delight! Let your spirits soar as their stunning voices lead you on a journey through some of the most beautiful arias and duets ever written. Even the ‘opera-shy’ will be familiar with these unforgettable masterpieces, brought to vibrant life with a full orchestra under the stars. To add to the whole experience, guests are invited to arrive early to savour the exceptional delights of some great local food and wine at the stunningly architecturally designed Roche Estate. Or why not head to the nearby magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens with over 60 acres of spectacular international display gardens that will amaze you with sensational sights, colours, fragrances and adventures. Then stroll through Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village with over twenty boutique shops and cafes.

Then, as the sun sets slowly over the vines, take your seats in the magnificent open-air amphitheatre, glass of wine in hand, and relax into a night of musical magic beneath the stars.... Tickets are limited and seats will fill fast, so hurry, book early for the best seats! A truly memorable experience and a wonderful excuse for a day or weekend away, ‘Opera in the Vineyards’ is a definite highlight in anyone’s spring calendar.
