This exhibition is presenting works by three very talented Aboriginal artists: Wayne Krause, Den Barber, and the Late Jodi Cameron.
A Wiradjuri man of the Parjong clan (Fish River people), Wayne paints traditional stories handed down to him by his elders.
From ‘doodling’ in class at school, Den’s artistic style has developed into the fine drawings he now produces, mainly of birds and reptiles. He also creates Aboriginal artefacts such as boomerangs, clap sticks, digging sticks and coolamons, reflecting his cultural connection to country.
The Late Jodi Cameron
We wish to show our respect to Aunty Jodi Cameron. Jodi was a Darkinjung woman who grew up unaware of her Aboriginality, a member of the Stolen Generation. Upon learning of her heritage she embraced it deeply, spending the next 20 years of her life learning and living her culture until her death last year.
