The Hotels in Cessnock area remind us of a bygone era.
Walking inside these building you can almost smell the coal dust and hear the miners chattering.
The townships of the Cessnock area were not always like we see them today once upon a time horses and buggies littered the streets and coal dusted miners. The last relics of mining can be seen in some of the old work buildings but perhaps the best examples of the bygone era in the massive hotels that still stand today. Whilst the people may have changed often the facades of the building remain as a testament to a forgotten era.
