The Cessnock Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) complex has the only fully professional 466 seat theatre in the Hunter Region. The comfortable seating is positioned at floor level and ranked to allow for uninterrupted sight lines. Seating on the floor area can be removed to allow for tables and chairs to be set up for dining, cabaret events and conference functions etc. The auditorium is fully accessible for special needs, catering for wheelchairs and hearing impaired.
Our spacious foyer is tastefully decorated and furnished wraping around the box office and licensed bar area. The foyer space contains the Cessnock Hall of Fame and is well lit with natural light from large windows at the front of the building. The foyer area is suitable for special events such as civic receptions, social occasions and events that encourage meeting and greeting.
Additionally there are two large rooms with a seating capacity of 60 in each, Meeting Room 1, located on the ground floor is ideal for meetings, structured activities such as training seminars, information sessions, social gatherings. The Program Room, located on the first floor is also ideal for meetings. Structured activities such as training seminars, information sessions, social gatherings and is the perfect rehearsal space with polished floorboards, high ceiling and loads of natural light. Both rooms are equipped with data projectors and screen, clear access to toilets as well as kitchenette facilities.
The Cessnock Performing Arts Centre attracts producers and touring organisations from the Hunter, interstate and nationally in order to ensure that it maintains a profile as a quality presenter with a diverse performance program. The program is promoted to the local community and business sector, the tourism sector and visitors to the area from within the Hunter Region, New South Wales, Australia and internationally. Additionally the facility has become home to several organisations including the Cessnock Senior Citizens group, ADFAS (the Australian Decorativie and Fine Arts Society), the Undeniably Noisy Project and a number of Cessnock City Council’s civic events.
The Centre also attracts a number of organisations, groups and individuals that hire the various rooms that are available for individual and collective use. This has been achieved via a targeted marketing campaign highlighting the value of using the Centre for events and activities at competitive and realistic charges. The Centre is ideal for small conferences and seminars of varying sizes. The nature and variety of spaces, within the centre, make it ideal for large presentations, product launches, book launches, auctions and charity fund raisers and break out areas for smaller presentations. The foyer area, with its licensed bar, is ideally suited to cocktail functions and whilst we do not have an on-site caterer there are a variety of local suppliers who offer a range of quality products and services.
