Travel Tips Sun smart

There are easy ways to enjoy the great outdoors and minimise your exposure to UV radiation. The Cancer Council's SunSmart program recommends to "Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide".

Slip on covering clothes

Cover your skin as much as possible.

Slop on sunscreen

Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you got outside, and reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.

Slap on a hat

A broad-brimmed hat will shade your face, nose, ear and neck.

Seek Shade

Make sure you use shade in combination with other sun protection measures.

Slide on some sunglasses

Sunglasses can significantly reduce UV radiation exposure to the eyes.
